About Construct
Some of the moments that stay with me the longest happen around a table, not just because of the food, but because of what’s exchanged across it. Laughter. Stories. Silence. Safety. Presence.
For most of my life, I felt most at home in solitude. But over time, I learned that the right kind of company, honest, gentle and human (surprisingly)* can feel just as safe. I wanted to build a space where that kind of connection could happen naturally. Where things could be both simple and meaningful.
So I started with pancakes.
They’re personal to me. Comforting, playful, a little nostalgic. But more than that, they’re a reason to gather. Where the small details matter most, from the first sizzle of batter, the smell of butter in the air, the music in the background, the way someone’s face lights up after a bite. They matter. So much.
I’m Haermana, the person behind it all. The one making your pancakes, pouring your tea, setting the table, and welcoming you in. I’ve always believed that food is one of the gentlest ways to love someone. It doesn’t have to be loud or fancy. It just has to be real.
At Construct, that’s what I try to offer: something real. Whether you're here for a quiet hour alone or to meet strangers who might not feel like strangers for long, this is a place to soften.
This isn’t a café. It’s not a concept either. It’s a place to just be. With yourself or with others.
I'm not here to impress you, I'm here to welcome you.
And I hope you stay awhile.
*Surprisingly because for most of my life, it was always my dog that I grew up with and now my cat who made me feel that way. Well it turns out, people can too. Occasionally. Under the right lighting and with pancakes duh.
